I usually just blow the eraser "crumbs" off or even pick the drawing up and shake it.

i do that too, but sometimes when you work in small areas its pointless, also depens what rubber you are using now.
some rubbers go off easily, some likes to stick to paper :D

Yeah, it really depends on what eraser you're using and even what paper you're using. I hate using shinier papers (the ones that feel slicker, though I'm not really sure how to explain that) because I feel like they don't erase quite right and it bugs me.

Hairspray works well?

of course~ I wouldn't share my tips with you if they wouldn't work~
You can always make a tryout~

Draw something on single paper and then spray it to see how it works~ ♥

With the hairspray as a fixative - are you able to go back am make alterations easily ... because certain fixatives let you go back and others don't (like the material won't stay or something - I'm not sure I heard this from someone)?

haispray is for final fixation~
It lets you to work on sketch like add final touches,
but doesn't let you work on drawing like a day later.

As I wrote there are some fixatives that let you do that,
but I never met them where I live though..
So I am not really sure if they are good or not~

Thank you so much for your reply and question~
That means a lot! ♥

I never thought I would need to spray fixative on a pencil drawing (thought it was only for graphite and charcoal stick drawings) o.o but after drawing and erasing for a few hours yesterday my drawing started smudging pretty badly so I had to erase the smudges which messed up the paper a little o.o  so I will definitely be buying some hairspray e.e
thanks for the tips :)
